Sr. Database Administrator – Northern California
The Senior Database Administrator maintains the health and performance of a variety of database applications. Performs schema and query reviews of database interactions developed by our partners. Tunes database parameters for performance and reliability. Creates backup and disaster recovery procedures for production databases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create, Document, and Maintain Database Services
• Perform maintenance and performance upgrades to various databases
• Debug errors and performance issues on various database services
• Assist with various parts of our internal analytics system
• Review queries and schemas of third party game developers. Occasionally provide operations support (alerts, scaling, monitoring).
• Provide technical support and advice to internal and third party developers.
• Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience
• 5+ Years doing database work (MySql, Postgres / RedShift, MongoDB)
• Experience using Amazon Web Services a plus
• Experience with scalable systems in a sharded or clustered environment a plus
• Experience conducting load tests a plus
• Experience with Big Data and analytics systems (Hadoop, Storm, Spark) a plus
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
• B.S. in Computer Science
