Senior Data Analyst
Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Data Analyst (and data guru) to join our SoCal Analytics crew. In this role, you will support numerous data initiatives and projects that revolve around analytics and business intelligence. You’ll serve as a subject-matter expert on a large number of data repositories and data sources. You’ll perform data mining/exploration and data manipulation, provide data pulls based on business requirements, and automate ETL jobs to help support our analytics eco-system. In addition, you’ll help recommend solutions to address data needs and problems.
What you can expect to do in your new gig
• Lots and lots of SQL querying. (We’ve got a ton of data.)
• Automate reports and ETL processes through SSRS and SSIS; Creation and improvement of Stored Procedures
• Investigate data issues and anomalies
• Gather, write, review and Improve business requirements
Skills & Requirements
Your qualifications include:
• 6+ years in a senior SQL role with direct responsibility for helping to answer business questions and challenges through data; You know how to turn data into meaningful output that end users can easily understand and digest
• You have that special ability to bridge the communication gap between the technical teams and the business teams; You understand what the business wants/needs and you’re successful at getting those needs translated to a technical level
• You are great at trouble-shooting data issues
• You are very methodical and logical in your approach to things; You understand the need to QA and triple-check everything you do because accuracy is key to your success as a Data Analyst
• You know how to look at data objectively; It’s easy to manipulate data in order to support a particular notion, but you want to do the right thing and let the data tell its own story
We also like to see:
• The ability to digest a lot of information and be able to figure out how/if they impact any of your current work or processes; Change is a constant!!
• Solid foundation in analytics
• You work well in a team culture that straddles the divide between introversion while at our desks and extroversion when engaging with other teams who need our support
• You work well with a manager who will drill down into the details of your work when needed but will also expect a high level of autonomy and proactivity from you
