Analytics Director
As Director of Analytics, your primary responsibilities will be data instrumentation and analysis. By analyzing both high-level and granular data, gathering competitive benchmark data, and researching industry & global trends, you will rigorously optimize performance of the product and marketing activities. Ultimately, you will spearhead and execute the company-wide initiative to become a truly data-driven problem-solving organization.
Responsibilities:
• Effectively analyze very large volumes of game data to deliver meaningful & actionable insights around acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, and LTV
• Work closely with game design & marketing teams, using analytics to drive continuous improvements across all game feature/content and user acquisition campaigns
• Support ad-hoc analysis and report requests from the CEO, Producer, or Marketing Director through the use of visualization tools such as Tableau, and presentation deck if necessary
• Verification & validation of data from multiple sources to ensure that reporting & analysis are reliable and accurate within acceptable margin
• Assess and review in-app & server event tracking, and database warehouse/schema designs
• Monthly quantitative research on market landscape and competitive dynamics
Qualifications:
• Analytics veteran: 1+ year of experience in game data analysis, 5+ years in analytics overall
• Master problem solver: approach challenges both methodically and creatively, sparking discussions as you work toward prioritizing and breaking down the steps to solutions
• Multi-disciplined: experience with SQL for data query and manipulation (e.g. MS-SQL), statistical analysis package (e.g. R or SPSS), and BI tool (e.g. Tableau or Microstrategy)
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Experience working with very large data sets derived from millions of unique users and gameplay sessions, and ability to effectively communicate key findings & insights
• Solid understanding of mobile free-to-play game economy and analytics
